the Aesthetik was founded by head designer Stacy Williams. A Texas native, she cultivated her career as a fashion creator in New York City – where she landed as a design graduate, armed only with her portfolio and $500. Moving to NYC, Stacy soon realized that the city's unconventional life and approach to art matched her own. Anna Sui and Susana Monaco are just two of the high-end brands she worked for before founding the Aesthetik by Stacy Williams, a womenswear and up-cycled jewelry label with attitude. She is inspired by a belief in the alternative – from subculture and alternative lifestyle to ethically sustainable business practices
As a designer, Stacy has been featured in "Time Out New York," awarded accolades by The Fashion Group International, The Witte Museum, The Houston Museum of Fine Arts, and Saks Fifth Avenue. As a multi-media artist, she has been recognized as an artist, with shows at PS/1 MOMA's LIC and among NYC's Soho galleries. Various celebrities can be spotted wearing the label and before relocating to San Antonio, Williams opened her own retail store in NYC's West Village.
For Stacy, it's the value of beauty, both inner and outer – together. Supporting the local creative economy is an essential tenet of the Aesthetik. Stacy ensures that all of the label's garments and jewelry pieces are made locally and strives to use only US-made organic/natural/eco-friendly material. Williams is an artist, and her medium is fashion, effectively blurring the line between the two genres.
